Waxing is one method used for temporary hair removal. The hair is removed from the root and will normally start growing again after 2-8 weeks.
Waxing can be used all over the body but is most commonly used on the:-
Eyebrows
Upper lip
Legs
Arms
Back
Bikini area
Tummy
Feet
The wax is spread across the area to be treated and then a cloth or piece of paper is pressed onto the wax, the cloth is then pulled quickly in the direction of the hair growth. The hair gets stuck in the wax and is pulled out from the root.
Waxing is a quick and efficient method of removing unwanted body hair, large areas can be removed in one go and it is removed from the root, rather than the surface like when shaving unwanted hair. Also it does not cause rough stubble. There are drawbacks to waxing though - it can be very painful and has been known to cause slight bleeding, red bumps and ingrown hairs. It should also only be done by a fully trained beauty technician and therefore can become costly to keep having it re-done on a regular basis. There are do-it-yourself waxing kits that can be purchased from shops, but most of the time they do not give as good results as a treatment performed by a beauty technician.
